About Southlakes Roosters JRLFC

Founded in 1958, the Southlakes Roosters Junior Rugby League Football Club is one of the most respected and community-focused grassroots rugby league clubs in the Lake Macquarie region. What began as a single junior team has grown into a vibrant club with teams across all age groups — proudly fielding players from Under 6s through to Under 18s, and continuing to expand every season.

Based in the heart of Dora Creek, New South Wales, and competing strongly in the Newcastle Junior Rugby League Competition, the Roosters are driven by a passion for the game and a commitment to nurturing young talent. Our club is built on the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and community spirit.

At Southlakes Roosters, children and families from diverse backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun. Whether they’re taking their first steps onto the field or striving to reach their full potential, our players are supported every step of the way through positive coaching, inclusive programs, and a family-oriented environment that celebrates effort as much as success.

Our club also provides opportunities beyond playing, including coaching roles, volunteer positions, and community events that bring families and supporters together. These activities not only strengthen club culture but also contribute to lifelong friendships and local pride.

The Southlakes Roosters are more than just a sports club — we are a community institution. Through sponsorships, local partnerships, and fundraising events, we support regional businesses while investing in improved facilities, equipment, and opportunities for our young athletes.

Whether you’re a first-time player, a dedicated supporter, or a local business looking to get involved, the Roosters welcome you with open arms. Join us as we foster not only the love of rugby league but also the values that help shape confident, capable, and community-minded young people.
